I Want Another Baby

Let me start by saying, I already know how this post will end.

I just hope I am not alone in getting to that ending.

The girls are growing so fast. I know its a total cliche, but they really do grow up before your very eyes.

I can still remember leaving the hospital with Liv and feeling like my undercarriage was falling out.

I can still remember holding them both in my arms for the very first time. The way they smelt and looked so perfect and innocent.

My girls.

But now they are 3 and 6. Now they don’t lie still, they don’t love cuddles, they don’t like to be sniffed and snuggled.

Now they like to make noise, create chaos and make their presence very well known.

Don’t get me wrong, I love how they are now. But part of me misses those little babies.

Part of me knows I can have one. I have all the right parts still. Just a little, well, looser?

I could just completely shake up our normal and do it all again.

I really could.

But I can’t.

I know the effects it would have on my MS, which in turn affects the whole family. I would be even less normal than I am now.

I couldn’t face the endless nights awake and I couldn’t let Ben do it all alone. My poor husband has enough to deal with.

I couldn’t suddenly stop all my medication and expect to be okay. And I couldn’t spend as much time going to appointments as I do now with a baby in tow.

As much as every part of me wants just one more.

Equally those parts don’t.

It just wouldn’t work.

So yeah. I do want another baby. But I also couldn’t think of anything more debilitating to do to this family.

We will have to stay this way…

Yoshi’s Woolly World Wii U review

images (2)Pretty much a sequel to 2014’s New Yoshi’s Island 3DS.
The classic collectables are present, the Sunflower, the Pink jumping stars and the Red coins. Of course for this entry there are also wraps of yarn to collect, Since the plot of the game is the evil Kamek casts a spell on all the Yoshi inhabitants and they unravel into 5 bundles of yarn. Yoshi, along with erm, other Yoshi, are fortunate enough to avoid being unravelled as they stumble into a giant pile of Wool. Despite the Yoshi’s best efforts to stop Kamek taking their clan, Kamek takes off with them scattering some over various areas of the island as he struggles with the weight of the sack.

The level hub is quite similar to that of a Mario Galaxy hub. By which I mean a free roaming 3D area. It really once again shows how much of an impact the Mario 64 & Galaxy series had on the future of Mario, or in this case Yoshi games. And how we long for a 3rd instalment of the galaxy series. Maybe the NX anyone?

images (5)This game is not the walk in the park it’s cute outset seems. It’s actually Quite challenging, even the most seasoned video gamers will find great challenge while being wowed by the little touches of genius that are thrown in. My personal favourite moment has to be when you see a chain chomp that turns into a bolder when a yarn ball is thrown at it.

So much thought went in to this game, from the textures, the textiles, the new moves/Yoshi Transformations.. It’s just, so, damn charming! Everything you see on screen has been designed to look like wool. There are even yarn spools which are used for Yoshi to unravel and spin off when going to an island.
There are even more Incredible transformations to be seen when the yarn balls hit an enemy/piece of scenery or a warp pipe.

Unlike it’s Mario counter part there is no time limits on levels. Similar to some Mario games you can also back track in places if you have missed collectables.

It’s an absolute delight from the great soundtrack and it’s cheerful appearance. It’s certainly a Yoshi’s island game indeed with it’s classic mechanics of controls almost unchanged since Yoshi’s Island.

images (6)There are some second player opportunities with Amiibo, you can swallow you co-op partners Yoshi and they become an egg, very handy for levels that are fast moving and obtaining yarn balls is tricky. Of course the Yoshi that has just been swallowed up and passed through his relative will return back to normal after being launched in-to an object.images (4)

Power badges bought with collected gems can buy abilities and help. These can be purchased on the level hub, and, in the pause menu if you’re having difficulty on say, a lava level. You can even use a yarn Dog named Poochy from your power badges. My daughters favorite character in the game. Acting like a second player, he can crumple enemies, stop you taking damage from spikes and images (3)even let you know when you are near secrets. Though I think he unlocks after you first encounter him in world 2.

Mellow mode is handy if children are struggling with certain levels. You get wings that have no flight limit, sometimes this makes some levels seem easy, whereas almost essential to get through other levels. Don’t be fooled by thinking this will make the game a walk in the park. It doesn’t give you invincibility, and, although the flight time is constant, you fly in a line, you cant gain height unless you bounce of an enemy or take a leap from a high ledge or platform. Again this can be accessed at any time through the pause menu.

and of course there are also character skins for Yoshi to wear with compatible Amiibo. In Co-op mode you can have many different combinations of character patterns for Yoshi including Mario and Sonic.

People often say time and time again the Wii U has no games, as in ” good games. ” Well the fact is my friends that nearly every single game I have played for the Wii U has been fantastic. Time and time again Nintendo produce some of the most innovative, memorable gaming moments right to your Lounge. Yoshi’s Woolly World being an exception…. because it’s Woolly Brilliant!

Yoshi’s Woolly world is available to buy now.

The Game itself has an RRP of £39.99

The digital edtion RRP of £39.99

And Amiibo & game pack start from £49.99

Chemist Direct

I have recently had the chance to go shopping over on Chemist Direct. This website is like one of the wonderful pharmacies that stock everything you need. The ones you find in tiny villages or out in the middle of nowhere. They stock things you would usually have to hunt high and low for, the type of pharmacy I love!

Chemist direct has a very user friendly setup, the site is easy to navigate, even on a mobile device. I used it first on my phone because I like to put mobile versions to the test, Chemist direct passed.

For the sake of this write up I thought I would try and stock up on all the family essentials that every mother should have in their cupboard. I even managed to get generic versions of the products I was looking for, saving me a few pounds here and there. I love if when a store offers generic versions when you search for a brand. It gives you the choice, something which is great for all budgets.

One thing I did find was pet products. Not something I expected but a really welcomed surpise and we really needed a few bits for the pups. So again, I was able to buy it all from one place, quickly and easily.

I did find the beauty section to be a little lacking, but I hope this is something they will look to grow in the future.

The checkout process was so easy, you also have the option of paypal which I love. I brought products that contains Paracetamol and Ibuprofen, so I had to fill out small one page forms about who the product if for, age, why they need it etc, having worked in Pharmacy I loved this. It’s good to see a company regulating these things.

Delivery was also super fast.

Overall I really enjoyed my shopping experience over at Chemist Direct, it is definitely a site I will use over and over again.

Bing Toys From The Entertainer

bing talking toy

Bing is a much-loved character from the loveable TV series BING. About a talking Bunny and his friends, Bing is fast becoming a hit show over on CBeebies.

kids and bing

And Evie is one of those many fans.

So when we got to play with some of the new Bing range of toys from the entertainer, she was over the moon.

The Entertainer is one of our favourite toy shops, we can often be found roaming the aisles looking at their incredible deals, I knew it wouldn’t be long until they had something for the hit TV show.

We had a small two pack.

This little pack was fabulous. Eve is a huge lover of anything little. She carries things around with her all the time, she even has a bag full of her little favourite toys, which is never far away. Needless to say, this little set has made it into the favourites. The bring colours and array of sets, with all the different characters make this little collection amazing.

A must have for any little bing fan.

Next we had the Talking Bing toy.

Eve and our little puppy love anything that talks. So this was one of those toys we have had fights over many a time. With several recognisable phrases in his loveable Bing voice, this cuddley little number is like havinig Bing right there in the room with you.

Eve spends many an evening talking to him in bed, giving him a squeeze when she wants a response. It’s very cute.

Both of the above toys are such great quality. They are a perfect release for the fast growing TV show, your little ones will love building a Bing collection, and I have a sneeky feeling you will too 😛
